You know, it couldn’t have hurt Rowling to have told all of us that she was planning to do this all along. Seriously. You couldn’t have just said “well, I’m making a few that only special people can see, but soon all of you will get to see a print version and the proceeds will go to charity”.
Except, I don’t think this was her idea in the first place. I think she got reamed enough times to realize that if she wanted to save her credibility she should do the smart thing and give her readers a piece. Yeah, clever ploy.
