I have a question that I think needs answering from more people than just myself (which is why I’m asking the question):
Is it unethical for me to enter into contests on a blog I do reviews for even if I’m told it’s okay by the owner of the blog?
I ask this question because SQT of F & SF Lovin’ Book Reviews often has some really good little contests for free books. As most of you know I do reviews for that blog. So, while SQT says that it’s okay for me to enter, I feel some apprehension because I have a feeling that there is something unethical about it. Some part of me doesn’t feel right about entering those contests because I get this sense that I shouldn’t be entering seeing how I’m a member of the reviewing crew. What do you think on this issue? Am I just being silly?
(Don’t click the read more, there isn’t any more after this!)

You’re always silly.
I do think you have a point, though. Is there a way you could do it anonymously?
But wouldn’t that mean that I think I’m doing something wrong? If it’s not wrong, why should I hide the fact that it’s me?
Mhm, I think I am shameless then, since I co-blog on the same blog as well and apart from you I never asked myself that. I think that if SQT says it’s alright, then really it’s alright. however I do find a point in this. A very strong point. Now I am all shakyy whether I should enter again.
As someone who is completely unconnected to that particular process–I think you should be as eligible as anyone else, unless you’ve already read or received a copy of the book in some way. *shrug*
Well, maybe it’s okay then.
