It’s been a while since I have been excited about a kung fu movie, but this one looks pretty damn awesome. Detective Dee has great style, can be described vaguely as Chinese steampunk, and takes itself seriously enough to contain some good acting. What more could you ask for?

DEE really is fantastic. You can nab official Tai Seng DVD's of it already on ebay for around 8-12 bucks (w/ official subtitles, yes. I always find the Chinese versions superior to the western as the US distributors tend to cut the film and eff with the subtitles/dubbing until its virtually un-followable). One of the most "whole package" films out of Hong Kong in a while.
Well, I'll look for it, then. Definitely want to see it.
