Memorial Day: A Fond Thank You

To all the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, from the dawn of our country to the present, who have died serving the people of the United States of America, I say thank you. Whether you fought in the Revolutionary War or Iraq, you deserve every American’s thanks and gratitude. It matters not whether the war was just, because Memorial Day is not about the decisions of politicians, it is about the men and women who died doing what their country asked them to, who sacrificed their lives for every one of us.So, again, thank you.

WISB is Now on the Kindle!

As if WISB couldn’t be more convenient than it already is, you can now get my blog on your Kindle. That’s right, thanks to Amazon’s nifty new Kindle for blogs beta system (thanks to Grasping For the Wind for the link), WISB is available on the Amazon Kindle. If you own a Kindle you can now have WISB delivered straight to the device! It costs $1.99 a month, a price that Amazon sets and I have no control over, but apparently you can get a free 14-day trial to any subscription through Amazon before having to pay. But if you’re happy getting your WISB fix via the website or feed, that’s perfectly fine by me. However, I’d appreciate it if you would review my blog on its Kindle/Amazon page. The more reviews I get, the more exposure, and that means more subscribers through the Kindle, which is always good, right? So head on over there and let everyone know what you think about WISB! Thanks in advance.

RIP: Ken Rand

Today is truly a sad day. Author Ken Rand has died. Patrick Swenson of Fairwood Press (who has recently published two of Mr. Rand’s short story collections) has a few things to say about the author (link found via SF Signal). This one hit a little closer to home for me than most of the other deaths we have seen in the last year. This is because I have come to greatly admire Mr. Rand’s writing based on what I have been reading in the two short story collections mentioned. He was certainly a talented writer and he will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace and may his stories be remembered forever.

RIP: J. G. Ballard

According to the BBC, Mr. Ballard passed away from an illness (not sure which) at the age of 78. He was the author of classics such as Crash and Empire of the Sun. He will be missed.

Crazy Interview w/ Me

It’s somewhat old, but I was on vacation when it went up…Mulluane is doing this fun interview feature with SF/F bloggers and posted her interview with me here. It’s a fun interview, so enjoy!

Quick Update: I’m Back

I wanted to let all my readers know that I have returned from England. I’m a bit exhausted at the moment, but we’ll get into that sometime later as I have quite a few things to catch up on right now. In any case, expect more posts from me soon and other such things. Anywho!
