Video Found: The Cup of Tears
What do you get when you take ninjas, samurai, spaceships, and slow motion fighting? The Cup of Tears, an indie-made fake trailer for a film that doesn’t actually exist yet. And the trailer has apparently just earned its creator/director a movie deal with Universal. Cool? Let’s hope so. It looks kind of pretty, but pretty doesn’t make a good movie (cough Avatar cough). Here it is for your enjoyment (after the fold): Thanks to SF Signal for finding this one.
Video Found: Who You Gonna Call (in the Public Library)?
What a better way to support the local library than to stage a ridiculous 1980s throwback in the middle of the stacks! That’s what these guys did and it’s hilarious and wonderful. I wish more people were doing these things for the libraries. We need that kind of support. Anywho, here it is (after the fold): Thanks to Chris Roberson for the discovery!
Video Found: The Adjustment Bureau (Trailer)
I didn’t now about this movie until SF Signal posted the trailer. So, I’m posting it here for all of you to see (after the fold): So, am I the only one that really wants to see this?
Video Found: Inception (Trailer 3)(a.k.a. Best Movie of 2010)
If you haven’t see anything about Inception yet, then you’re missing out. This will be, without a doubt, the best movie of 2010. Period. End of discussion. It looks amazing, the story is wicked cool, and the cast is fantastic. See for yourself (after the fold):
Video Found: Billy Mays and the Iron Man Suit
The greatest thing about this video isn’t that the concept is hilarious, but that the actor doing Billy Mays is kind of like what Billy Mays would be like if he had smoked copious amounts of crack. See for yourself (after the fold): On a side note: you should see the bloopers; they’re pretty funny.
Video Found: The Left Hand of God Trailer
A new book series is coming and it looks really fantastic. The first book is called The Left Hand of God, and it will be part one of a trilogy. Here’s the synopsis: They call him Cale. He is destined to save the world… …or destroy it. In the Redeemer Sanctuary, the stronghold of a secretive sect of warrior monks, torture and death await the unsuccessful or disobedient. Raised by the Redeemers from early childhood like hundreds of other young captives, Thomas Cale has known only deprivation, punishment, and grueling training. He doesn’t know that another world exists outside the fortress walls or even that secrets he can’t imagine lurk behind the Sanctuary’s many forbidden doorways. He doesn’t know that his master Lord Bosco and the Sanctuary’s Redeemers have been preparing for a holy war for centuries–a holy war that is now imminent. And Cale doesn’t know that he’s been noticed and quietly cultivated. Then, Cale decides to open a door. It’s a door that leads to one of the Redeemers’ darkest secrets and a choice that is really no choice at all: certain death or daring escape. Adrift in the wider world for the first time in his young life, Cale soon finds himself in Memphis, the capitol of culture–and the den of Sin. It’s there that Cale discovers his prodigious gift: violence. And he discovers that after years of abuse at the hands of the Redeemers his embittered heart is still capable of loving-and breaking. But the Redeemers won’t accept the defection of their special subject without a fight. As the clash of civilizations that has been looming for thousands of years draws near, a world where the faithful are as brutal as the sinful looks to young Cale to decide its fate. Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Now here’s the trailer (after the fold): Hopefully I’ll get to review the book. We’ll see. Anyone else looking forward to this one?
