Video Found: The Hobbit (Trailer) — Thoughts?

We’ve all been waiting for this film like a dog waits for its master. And it is coming! From the bowels of Khazad-dûm… What does everyone think? I quite like the look, to be honest. It’s a good thing Jackson took the helm, because the film is certainly shining as a result!

Video Found: Whitley Strieber’s “The Christmas Spirits” Trailer

No need to say anything about this. Just watch: You can find Strieber’s book on Amazon, in case you’re interested. I’m sure it’ll be an amusing read. P.S.:  I don’t know if the book will be available elsewhere in the future; it didn’t show up in my B&N search, though.

Video Found: John Dies at the End

When it comes to surreal or downright bizarre movies, you can always count me in.  The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.  Donnie Darko.  Existenz.  Love them all. Now comes John Dies at the End, a 2012 film based on David Wong’s (a.k.a. Jason Pargin) novel of the same name.  And Paul Giamatti is in it, which means I’ll probably see it even if everyone else says it sucks.  Giamatti is bloody brilliant! Here’s the trailer (after the fold):

Video Found: Astronauts Falling on the Moon

I giggled while watching this.  It’s hard not to.  The falls are hilarious, but you can also imagine how frustrating it is to get tripped up for almost no reason so many miles from home.  You come hundreds of thousands of miles only to trip over air and fall flat on your face… Here’s the video:

The Video You’ve All Been (Not) Waiting For (a.k.a. That WISB Thing)

You all remember how I promised to make a video of me doing embarrassing crap?  No?  Oh.  That’s depressing. Wait, you were just messing with me?  That’s nice of you… In any case, that video is now made, with a lot of additional nonsense.  Why?  Because I was later than late on making it, and then a series of technological problems prevented me from doing it.  But a promise is a promise, and now it’s here for your amusement. For the record, you will find the following in the video: The Electric Slide (performed poorly, of course) Peanut Butter Jelly Time (somewhat quietly displayed due to me being a nice person) The Truffle Shuffle (performed a little too well for my comfort…) You will also find me doing silly crap and one particularly amusing geek reference.  If you know the reference, leave a comment! So here you go: Feel free to share it.  You know you want to! Update:  Some folks have said they are having issues using the above video.  Below you should find a YouTube version for your amusement.  Thanks! No YouTube version after all.  The copyright bastards swarmed in and deleted all the audio simply because I used part of a song, despite giving it proper attribution.  So…I deleted the video and will never upload anything there again.  To those that had issues using the Blogger video above:  sorry.  I tried to provide an alternative, but the pricks at the music companies have apparently neutered YouTube.  Post a song with music in it and they’ll cut the audio out.  Meh.  It’s crap like this that contributes to piracy.

Video Found: “The Doctor and I” w/ John Barrowman (Wicked)

I’m stealing this from SF Signal because I know my sister needs to see it.  She’s not a Doctor Who fan (in part because she’s a mutant from another galaxy), but if this doesn’t convince her that Doctor Who is the greatest science fiction TV show still running (poor BSG is no longer with us, after all), then I don’t know what will. Enjoy! P.S.:  To my sister — if you don’t enjoy this, we will no longer be siblings.  I will disown you like an evil overlord disowns his henchmen.  That means I’ll send you to your untimely death knowing full well you can’t defeat the good guy.  Or something like that…
