The Histories is an encyclopedia of the history of the universe as understood by its creator, Shaun Duke, and from an Earth-centric perspective (for a Betelgeusian perspective, please see the Orkla'dyrkan Vol). It began as a series of entries of absolutely true biographies of real people, many of whom requested (i.e., paid money) that their true stories be told. These individuals provide a the core of the wiki, as no history would be adequate if it did not funnel its understanding of events through a selection of individuals of varying degrees of popularity.

Contrary to popular histories of the world (or the universe), The Histories does not purport to cover all known events from the dawn of time to the present. Rather, it contains a personalized understanding of the likeliest events and the known facts from the beginning of the universe to its as-yet-unknown end. As such, the absolutely true biographies of real people, some of whom you have probably heard about, typically cover an individual's life from birth to presumed death except in the the more common cases in which one has disappeared or when one's death is unknown.

While some might call The Histories a work of fiction containing elements of science fiction, fantasy, horror, crime, mystery, romance, westerns, and other known genres, it is, in fact, absolutely completely true. There are, indeed, vampires who become philosopher professors at Oxford, athletes who become space pirates, milkmen who accidentally invent an alternative to capitalism that actually works, and so on. You can choose to believe these things or not.
